Hi!

I purchased my BlackBerry Bold a couple of days ago. Today, the battery was dying so I waited until the Blackberry turned itself off before charging the phone. There was barely any battery left when the screen turned white and froze. I couldn't do anything or turn the phone off. After a while, the battery died, turning the device off. I started charging it and when I turned it on, the setup wizard appeared, even though I already used my blackberry for a couple of days. Should I bring it back to the store?

Is it working fine now? It should have just shut down but it sounds like that did not happen. You, depending on carrier policy, should have 30 days to return the device to the store of purchase or a corporate store if purchased in one. They will give you a new device. Once outside the 30 days, it will be a warranty exchange most likely.

Yeah, it's working fine now, so should I just keep it?

You should never let your battery die fully. These batteries don't have a memory and so you can charge them to top them up with no problem. But they don't like being fully drained until the phone turns off.

As for if you should bring it back its a judgement call. I haven't drained a battery fully before so I don't know the full damage it can do. Maybe someone else can give their opinion.

I wouldn't let it drain all the way either. And the BB is more like a computer than a phone...

It will not damage the battery to drain it. It is designed to shutdown when the battery gets low enough. Just how well it does that will depend on the hardware (bad or not) and what OS you are running i.e. Running a leak or hybrid may cause issues in that area since most like thoase things are tested very little. That will depend on what was tweaked in that load...
