I've had this phoone since December, and all of a sudden certain letters are typing double. I have no clue why, and it's driving me crazy! Is there any way to fix this?

This has been an ongoing issue with the 9780s...its your keyboard membrane. Hardware defect.

Call your carrier and request a replacement device.

NO, it is a hardware problem NOT software.

Well, it's mostly due to the membrane (plastics) beneath the keyboard going astray, if the device is not under warranty open up the box rearrange the keyboard and mostly it fixes it.

NO, it is a hardware problem NOT software.

You're right about it being hardware but for some reason (that makes no sense) it seems to go away for a day or two after an update..... then it comes back :-((((( That's been MY experience

If your phone is. Still under warrenty then send it in other wise try and replace it your self, you can get a new blackberry housing online for around 12 - 25 bucks lots of people say changing the housing has stopped the key pad stutter

Replacing the keypad and/or membrane, yes, but the housing? I think not.
