Keyboard Unlock with Passsword (manual)

Hello Everyone,

I had quick question on locking my BB Bold manually (pressing and holding *).
Is there anyway to unlock with password (user defined) instead of * and "Talk".

I have tried using password option but it locks the phone every few minutes.

I only want to lock it manually and unlock it with password.

When using Password option, I have to keep punching password to unlock it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I dont think there is a way to lock it manually, whenever you like - without a set timeout period, and unlock with a password. The maximum timeout you can set is one hour and the bb automatically locks after the specified time ...

I'm confused about what you are asking.

I have my password enabled so if I lock my Bold (*) I must enter a password to unlock it.

With password enabled, I cannot use * talk to unlock.

Hi Teek: I think, the OP doesnt want a set security timeout period. He want to manually lock the device whenever he likes and unlock with a password. Hope this makes sense ... :)

I agree with your reply in that case.

I do think they should have offered longer time out periods.
