Just bought 9700. Was used 8900 earlier. When I put the phone in holdter, keyboard doesnt get locked. Why is that? 8900's keyboard used to get locked automaticaly when I inserted in the holster.

It should lock if you set a password and set "lock in holster" to yes.

If you are talking about using the pocket pouch that comes with the 8900 (which I am doing also) you need to notice which side of the pouch has the magnet disc and put the phone in so that the magnet is against the back of the phone. The 8900 is not sensitive to the orientation but the 9700 seems to be. I put a little white dot in the center of the BB logo on my pouch so I could tell at a glance which way to insert the phone. It's a bit of a pain, but apparently there is enough of a difference between the devices to make it matter. Hope this helps...

No, I'm talking about putting the 9700 in the pouch that came with the 8900. Sorry if I wasn't clear. My 9700 will lock when it goes in the pouch but only if inserted in the "correct" orientation. All I got with my 9700 was the big belt holster and that won't do for me so I use my 8900 pouch. I didn't know which holder you were referring to so I thought I would mention my issues in case you were using your 8900 pouch as well.....

Go under your Options -> then Password.

It's the bottom option. You can leave password disabled and have it lock on holster.

I did the same just now. I was used to having it on my Bold 9000
