if its like any other device the keyboard will probably depend on the provider.

i know that Rogers gets the nicer red and white keys. look at the Bold and 8900

I sincerely hope the T-Mo version will be red red white. I'd even settle on green and white. That all white crap looks tacky, excuse my french.

For anyone who owns a Bold, tsk tsk, you should know better!

AT&T bears the all-white keyboard. This was the case with the 9000 release as well. The red/white keyboards were a VZW thing. The Rogers release will have the red/white keyboard as well. I'm not familiar with TMO, so I really don't know, but you could probably ask CX.

The T-Mobile 8900 has the red/white keyboard. I have one. I hope that T-Mobile will use the red/white one with the Driftwood because you can differentiate the numbers and the letters. It's not a dealbreaker for me if T-Mobile puts the all-white keyboard in.

Red keys? White keys? I'm more interested in if you can see the keys in low light conditions and I suspect the red keys would be hard to read. Okay, I don't own a BB...yet. I'm waiting for my AT&T upgrade in February when I'll get an 8900 or 9700. But right now I have a Moto Q Global and reading the keyboard is impossible in low light conditions because of the lack of contrast. Unless it's completely dark or quite bright you can't read the keyboard. It's a useless device. Oops! I'm ranting about my Moto. Anyway, I prefer the high contrast keyboards of the AT&T Bold and 8900.

Rogers will be recieving the red keyboard and AT&T will be recieving the white keyboard. AT&T requested this because they did not want to "advertise" Verizon and how there the big red.

Its an ATT thing. There will be an all white lttered keyboard with the Onyx. However, you may be able to replace the keyboard like I did with my Bold. I'm not really concerned with the red numbers because I'm sure you will be able to change it if you like. I actually think the all white letters is cooler looking. But I like to be able to distinguish the numbers from the letters on the keypad.

That's true, but for people having to drop $500+ retail for the device, you really don't want to just "crack it open", risking damage to the device, just to change the keyboard.
