Sorry to hear that happened. I did the same thing with my Curve. Luckily, the rice did a great job drying it out. Unfortunately, it didn't work anymore though. I'd go through insurance if you hopefully have it.
One of my co-workers washed his 8310 (amongst other items) and he just let it dry out. It lasted another 3-4 months before it finally gave up the ghost. Camera never worked after the wash though.

Oh man The important thing is to let it dry for at least 24 hours and resist the temptation to put the battery in just for a second to see if the led comes on. I had a drowner on my hands once (some old nokia), 24 hours on a heater - worked like a charm
But to save any hope, I would take it apart completely and blowdry the sh! out of it. Emphasis on the main board. No need for rice. It's not like these can't be taken apart completely. I mean COMPLETELY disassemble it. If there ARE parts that can't be taken apart, i.e., lcd then use the uncle ben's. But try my method first
Sorry to hear about that. I would go ahead and make plans for a replacement either through insurance, etc. Hope everything turns out okay. Keep us informed...
I gotta say, drooping your Bold in the toilet or spilling your frosty beverage on it sucks and I feel for the people in those situations. But allowing your Bold to go through the wash?
No pity here.

Raw deal. A buddy of mine jumped in the pool with his Bold, and then went out and had someone drop a drink on it. It has had a rice bath twice in the past couple weeks. Good luck on the drying.
My newly modded blacked out Bold went through the washing machine. I scooped it up with all my black shirts and stuff and it did a whole cycle.
It's currently sitting without it's battery in a bucket of rice wrapped in kitchen towel.
Any other tips on making the most of this complete disaster?
Take apart all of your black pieces, black bezel, black trackball etc etc and buy a dinged up one from someone and replace everything, load on it the best os and wallah! Good luck!
I skipped the drying out part because its difficult to say whether or not you will be able to use it again.
