Looks like there's nowhere in the Mac version of BlackBerry Desktop Software to be able to change or add the Japanese input support! (WTF?!)
I've had to go onto a PC and load it on. It said it was already installed, just not enabled. So weird... it includes Korean, Arabic, and Hindi straight out of the box. So why not Japanese?
EDIT;
WOW! There was a new graphic that played when my phone just turned on after the update and application install.
Edit 2;
And definitely BACKUP your data, because my phone is now completely wiped. I've added a few contacts and what not in the past few days and now I've lost them. =(
Edit 3;
Looks like it's all back.. magically... (I wonder if it's because of BlackBerry Protect?)
Alright. I'm download .296 right now. I'll let you know how it goes. I didn't end up liking .261 much anyways. .296 is the last OS I haven't tried yet.

So far, this OS installation has been the most problematic one I've ever had... DM was installing it, then the phone got completely wiped. I've been trying to reinstall the OS for the last hour with no luck getting the loader to even recognize the OS. I may try the OS files from VodofoneDE.

Sounds strange...it seems something went wrong on 9900...
I don't know what it is with .296. The VodofoneDE version I downloaded didn't work either. It's a shame because I did see Japanese input in the loader for both versions. I'm on .303 for now, but that doesn't have Japanese input. At this point, I'm just looking forward to another leak.

Could you back to .296 from .303? I suppose .261 on your 9900 caused the trouble, so that it could be a chance...

That's version .261 and I successfully enabled Japanese input with it. Just be sure to delete the vendor.xml file when you install that OS on your computer in order to load it onto your phone.

Ok, still no challengers... anyone try Rogers official OS7 to 9900 and see if Japanese input is working or not ?
All Japanese BB fans are eager to know; if Japanese input is working many fans will rush into web stores :-)

Yes. If Japanese is included, Korean and most definitely Chinese is included as well.
Anthonybaker, it should be there. I had it installed less than a week ago. It might be placed a little further down than usual though.
