After a couple days with .282 I am downgrading back to .247. I am having issues with the radio and wifi. Wifi is sluggish and is very slow to kick in and the phone's main radio is even worse. The reception is fine... when it's THERE. If the phone drops signal, it does not reconnect unless I toggle radio on/off via connection manager. Only then will signal will immediately be regained. I'm also dropping calls when signal is strong.
I think it's pretty much a consensus that everyone has different experiences with different OS's. What works well for some, does not work well for others. I've seen this for each OS released since I got the Bold and started paying attention. So I think it's best to say that .282 does not work for you. It may be crap for you, but there are lots of others that would disagree. I'm still testing it, personally, and the jury is still out.

Have to agree with gt500, after 2 days of use this 282 is proving to certainly be no worse than 266, and maybe even a bit better. I haven't run into any problems dropping calls or using WiFI, free memory is holding about 5MB higher than it was before, and the 2G/3G selection is a great addition.
Not only have I tried battery pulls (obvious but don't blame you for recommending this), I have installed .282 twice. How? JLCMDR full wipe, reload with crackmem and DM 4.6.
By the way, CrackMem has not once done what I told it to do (not install). Every time I put an OS on with crackmem, every single function is there when I told it NOT to install them. Crackmem does not work!
I also am enjoying .282 and think it's the best os so far,for me. the browser is so fast and the camera takes a much clearer and sharper pic. no problems so far. it's a keeper IMHO
.282 has been very good for me so far. i upgraded from .266, even on edge the netspeed hasnt really slowed down for me, and i havent had any probs with wifi. Everything works as expected and the memory free has been hovering around 36 Megs constantly, so im staying on .282...but then again YMMV...

.282 is not crap and everybody should try it for them selves. I been running it for 2 days know and its the best build yet. Maybe you should try reinstalling or stay with what ever you like but to say something is crap and not to install is your opinion, not everybodt elses.

Thanks for not taking offense at my advice. I'm sorry it didn't work out for you even on a second install. You're correct in saying that by now we should all know that everyone's experience with new OS's is different, but that being said you shouldn't discourage others from trying it for themselves when so many people are having such good luck with it.
I think berries are like people, no two are exactly alike. I've got two computers downstairs, same make, model, everything, and one has more crap installed on it, yet somehow it has more free space than the other. Go figure, call it ghosts in the machine if you will, but it happens.

I downgraded from 5.0.100 to give .282 a try and so far I'm happy I have. I'll admit there's a few minor burrs but for the most part all looks good here, good luck to anyone that decides to go for it.
