Issues with Orange UK for Bold Headset Warranty
- Hello there,
I bought this shiny and powerful brand new Bold last month:-) Unfortunately at Orange...after not even 1 Month, the Headset that came with the Bold, stopped working on the left earpiece. Naturally I tried to go to the Orange Store and apply for a new one, under Warranty of course.
A: They were absolutely incompetent and didn't know anything about this concern with warranty and stuff...then after 20min waiting for the guy to come back he told me that the Headset is not Part of the Warranty Coverage, and that Orange re-boxes the Bold by themselves (?????) What he tried to say is, that there is no chance to get a new headset through Orange. I tried the same thing in 3 Stores, and they refused all in a really silly way!!! Finally I called RIM UK and they were pretty surprised of how Orange acted in this concern. It is basically Orange the place to go for Warranty concerns, and Orange would get back to RIM..like you would expect it from every store you go!!!...but NEGATIVE!! After all this mess I'm pretty upset and I don't feel like continuing my contract with Orange...anyone a TIP how I can proceed with this???? Thanks very much for your help guys...kinda lost here09-30-08 12:53 PMLike 0 - Their answer to you is unlawful under the Sales of Goods Act...and the "repackaged" goods argument, even if true (which it wont be) is bollo_ _s as well. Muppets!
When you buy something, anything, it must be of satisfactory quality, fit for its purpose and as described.
When a mobile phone, or accessories supplied with it, do not meet some or all of these conditions, the trader must sort out your problem, not the manufacturer.

i think you took my statement the wrong way as i was talking about headphone accesories in general. I have little knowledge of the warrenty given by RIM as this is my first berry and its proving to be good (so far)
My one thought (and again im no expert on this) is that the document you linked me to is for accesories but read like the statement for the ones you buy seperatly.09-30-08 02:38 PMLike 0
