    I am having a problem with my bold 9790 connecting to the internet. Whatever wifi network I connect to, an error prompts:

    "Unable to connect to the internet, please try again later.
    If the problem persists please contact your service provider"

    Thanks to provide your recommendations on how to resolve issue.

    Being connected to WIFI is one thing, making sure the WIFI (router) is actually connected to a working modem (internet) is another.

    I had the similar thing, I was connected to WIFI full bars, and would come up with that same Error, turn off WIFI and the data worked off of 3g.

    Then I thought something was up with my internet, looked at my router and the wire going from the modem to the router was disconnected.

    Not sure that's what is going on with yours connection but its something to look at.

    last time i also face this problem before,
    i think u should try to link others router first.
    if can link to others, that's mean the router got something like firewall block you
    u have to close it or buy another new routers

    Thanks for your inputs guys. Actually, whether I connect to work or home wifi, I still get the same problem. I have already tried to reset wifi to default settings but to no avail.

    Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan?
    Is your internet access working over the carrier network?
    Are your other data features (email, Facebook, Twitter, etc) working?

    Nope. I dont have a data plan. Have not configured my phone to have internet through my carrier.

    WiFi access depends upon having the proper Service Books loaded to the device.

    Many/most carriers require BlackBerry data plan in order to get the WiFi Service Books sent to the device.

    Yeah I believe even a simple social plan will allow you to use WIFI
