    Every time my 9650 boots up, I get a message that it is initializing the SIM card. This did not occur before I updated to the latest OS 6 on 5/19. Can anyone give me some advice or suggestions?

    Flip your SIM card around so the gold contacts are facing out. You don't need to have your phone reading the SIM while on the Verizon network unless you are planning to travel outside of the good old USA.
    Another tip is to make sure your Network is set to 1XEV (instead of Global). You can set this in Options/Networks and Connections/Mobile Network/Network Technology.

    Never thought of flipping the SIM over, I just removed it. If I travel outside the US, I won't use the supplied SIM anyways.

    Same thing has happened every time I sign on now. Great idea about flipping the SIM card. I already set it to 1XEV but that alone did not resolve. Flipping the card is a great idea.
