Set it up on BIS for AT&T using the standard automated POP protocol.

Emails sent FROM the device arrive at their destination immediately

i NEVER receive messages sent to the account.

POP and IMAP are both enable on the Gmail account.

    any insight would help

Do you have any filters on the gmail account? See whether resending the service books / battery pull helps ..

you just need to enable IMAP not POP and it works fine....
why did you enable POP? POP is only used by the jesus phone and not Blackberries...disable POP in your gmail settings on a PC and fire off a few test emails then enjoy

Jack, this stuff is hard to troubleshoot past the obvious. It may save you time to just go to BIS and delete the Gmail account, then re-add using the instruction on GMail. Could be something simple, who knows.

DO NOT enable POP it is not needed and may just be the culprit....
all you need to enable is IMAP
go into settings on your gmail account on a pc and disable POP

In which case, BIS is using POP.

You have to set up the imap.googlemail.com details to use IMAP. If I remember right, you dont put your email password in and click next and then select manually adding settings. you also need smtp.googlemail.com for sending.

It is "PUSH" but it only works for me for a week then I have to delete and re-add all my email accounts.

Wouldnt be too bad if there was an import/export function on BIS.

sign in here anddelete the account you wanted to set up BlackBerry Internet Service
after deleting the account add it again....then sign into gmail on your PC and go to settings on the top right of the page...click on forwarding POP/IMAP
    disable POP
    enable IMAP
    save changes
go to another email address and send an email to the gmail address and then come back and report

Should service books be sent after deletion to clear from the phone?

normally after you add or delete an email addy from your phone it gets deleted or added 2 seconds after doing it on the BIS Site BUT sending service books doesnt hurt so yea he probably should do that

You may want to call AT&T, something may be wrong with your account.

I would delete the gmail account from BIS. Goto your gmail account and reset the settings, then go back to BIS and add the account back in without doing anything but inputing the email address and password. BIS 2.6 is supposed to configure everything properly for imap on its own (no problems here) but do remember it can take 20min to start receiving email. I've never had that happen, but it could
