I was hearing that the battery life on the 9900 was not to good. I was wondering if updates have improved it. Right now I am trying to decide between the 9900 or the nexus 4.

Dude,Galaxy will last just one day or less, but with good hybrid for bold 9900 and settings like display brightness...you will get better battery life.I suggest the bold.Yesterday one of my girls gave her S3 just to browse it...I don't like it.

I drive truck in my state, and just listen to podcasts, with the ocasional call to customers to let them know that I am on my way to deliver to them. Do you think I could make it through the day. Oh and I will be connected to bluetooth, which I know drains battery.

I don't switch bluetooth on my 9900 at all. It can make it through the day, if I don't talk for 6 hours straight
I believe that podcast playback and streaming it through BT to truck audio can be tough on your battery, no matter if Blackberry, or Android device.
Whatever you choose, just get the lighter charger.

What is a "good hybrid for bold 9900" ? Why do I want one ? Who supplies this software ? Does it screw up your OEM OS ?

I do not understand your post . If the physical KB is important why wouldn't you wait for the Q10 ? Why can't you charge your phone in the truck ? There are aftermarket batteries that can offer 20% more or monster batteries that can easily double your battery life. You can carry an extra battery as well.

Always use a Hybrid OS at your own risk. Having said that, I have used the BL Series from RC1 through to RC13 and every one has performed perfectly.

IMO the Hybrid OS's are better on battery life, smoother and faster than standard OS's and have the best browser performance I have seen on the 9900.

Well ... I looked at your link. Suffice it to say that the installation of a hybrid on a phone is beyond my capabilities but thanks for your response.

Make sure you have Wi-fi turned off when you're not using it, it can drain the battery.
