There was a thread a while back that some of the SOS problems can be related to the version/technology of the SIM card. If you have had the same SIM for a number of years, try asking for a newer generation SIM. I did that and I don't see that SOS problem much any more.
Thanks, but it was a new SIM with the phone. Just had a call from Carphone Warehouse saying my handset is now ready for collection. Excellent service - only took it in on Monday! Time to love the bold again

It is not the age of the SIM, but the technology version of the SIM. For example in the past year we have gone through three generations of SIMs here on Rogers, the latest being the LTE version with sure-pay technology in it. The version prior to that was for using NFC with our Visa cards, and prior to that may have been one with LTE technology.

The version of the SIM was also related to improvements if you happen to have wifi calling on your account, with the newer SIMs working better making the wifi calling connection.

Try the BL Hybrid OS, turns 99% of OS7 devices into battery sippers instead of gulpers !!!

Give it a few days. If this is a 1 day thing it may be a carrier issue

    UPDATE
Collected new handset (Blackberry replaced it) on Thursday last week and have exactly the same problem, only happening more often. Now a couple of times a day including every morning at switch on. Contacted Orange on Monday this week to see if they could help and they sent me out a new SIM. Swapped that over last night and again this morning, no signal.
Does anyone have any more useful suggestions please? Was thinking of giving my dealer one more try at solving it before considering a different model.
