I have a 2 years old 8900 that is acting up and it needs to be replaced. I would love to wait for the 9900 but my 8900 is slowly dying. And with the T-Mobile & at&t merger I'm not sure what will happen to the Tmo 3g band on my 9780?

    Thanks
    David

You should've just purchased your 9780 online, and used your upgrade date for the 9900.

you can still return it, so I would do that and let your 8900 limp for the next month.

You have nothing to worry about then.
You should've mentioned that in your original post.

Good move on the return. Wait for the 9900. It'll be worth it.

I love my 9780 and the 3G bands will stay the same. They are just using each other's towers.

your 8900 is not a bad device to hold onto until the new devices arrive or if you are waiting for qnx next year.they say it still the best curve released from rim ever.i never got to try it.many people are using the 7300 series still.anyway if you did buy the 9780,then its not bad either.keep it until qnx next year.and you will be glad you did.

You ordered from TMO as an upgrade or you just picked up a used one online? If you ordered new I'd say you should have went on say ebay and saved the upgrade. But either way the 9780 is sweet.

I got it from expansysusa so I didn't have to use my upgrade and renew my contract. I will use it for the 9900 but the 9780 was $434 shipped. It's new and a tmo unlocked unit.

    I second this comment.

But if you are happy that's all that matters. Enjoy your new phone

You got ripped hard son. You should've been able to nab the exact same unit shipped for ~$300.

Ouch, that price hurts. Expansys' pricing is tuff man. Tuff.

I picked up a brand new boxed white Rogers 9780 for $300 flat from a cell phone vendor stand in my local shopping mall.

I get my BlackBerry phones from Craigslist, sometimes brand new sometimes gently used. The prices are great and most times the sellers will negotiate better prices.
