It was really greasy and so it was just a light wipe down... I barely touched the thing. I've used kleenex on my gloss tv or my DS Lite before and nothing happened and so how is supposedly hard plastic supposed to get scratched like that?
I did end up buying an invisible shield from zagg and an OEM silicone skin. I bought the charging base and so I'll have to keep taking the bold out of the skin when I recharge. I'm thinking about getting the leather pocket as well because once I have the Zagg body protection on, it has a wicked screen protector, I wont fingerprint the screen taking it out of my pocket.
I just wish RIM made such expensive phones with a little better build quality. I mean the Bold is technically a 600 dollar phone without contracts.

For a long time I've thought about coating a replacement bezel in clear nail polish or something similarly hard. Haven't done it yet, as I'm still just awaiting a Ti bezel from Croe.

I can freely hold my bold. coz I sanded the chrome paint out and dye all black. if it get beat up, I just simply re-paint it again. =) no worries. I figured that bezel that is sold at online store will be less in quality. So work this way and so far, so good. =) also, I painted my yellow OtterBox hardcase that sold at ebay for $40 to all black.. sexy.. =)

Just got my stuff and installed the Invisible Shield on it... Full Body including the back.
I was worried at first thinking I may have damaged the screen because I used a lot of pressure trying to get the bubbles out and a small click started to happen if it got pressed in, but I deduced it was actually the bevel that was moving so I just tightened the t5 screw a bit and it went away.
Needless to say the bubbles went away and now its perfectly protected from scratches. You would think the smaller pieces would be a pain, but it was actually the back and the screen that gave me the most trouble.
I know you guys are thinking why cover the back, but what the heck. I paid a lot and why not protect that faux-leather from dirt/grim/scratches. Plus it looks custom now like croc-skin etc...lol.
The only thing is, it protects the silver bezel from most areas where it could scratch except it doesn't cover it all. I'd say the screen is like 99.5% protected, the back leather and silver camera part are like 100% the 4 face buttons are like 98%, the bottom part under the keyboard is like 97% and the silver bezel is like 90% protected so i'm happy because it cost only like $13.99 from amazon.com
For all you out there who want some really great coverage with only minimal visual changes or don't like should get the invisible shield. You can see its applied but only if you hold it real close.
I also put on a silicone skin just in case of super hard drops. I have a feeling the invisible shield will stop it from scratching or rubbing on the concrete if it falls but it doesn't stop anything from breaking due to the shock.
