I just did a clean install of OS 5.0.0.680 on my 9700 but there are apps I don't want and I certainly did not get the option whether I want to install them or not during the OS installation like:

    Windows Live Messenger
    GTALK
    Yahoo! Messenger

    how can I uninstall them?

When I connect my BB to Desktop Manager 7.1 then hit on the applications tab

This image is there forever and I never see the currently installed apps to click the MINUS sign next to them to remove them:

There are some apps that are carrier pushed and you can't delete them, unless you shrink them out before you install your OS.

Just make a folder called whatever ...I use CrApp lol and put em in there.

They are taking up memory man so here's how I did it:

    1) Download and install BlackBerry Device Manager v5.0.1. Build 49

    2) Launch BlackBerry Device Manager then click on the App Loader icon

    3) Then on the left, click on the Add/Remove Applications Start icon

    4) Then follow this illustration:
