    Hey.

I have two ~200kb mp3 files that I want to send to my friend who has a BB. Only problem is, he doesn't have email on his BB, only bbm. Is there a way to send him these mp3 files without using email or mms?

    Thanks.

Did you try bluetooth? How about swapping Sd cards and copying them over to the device memory?

When I try it, it says "The file you selected is too large. Please select a file smaller than 15kb."

I thought the largest file size you can send through bbm is 2MB. A lot of my pictures are way over 15kb, yet I'm able to send them to my contacts through bbm.

This sucks!!! Anyway around it? Am I doing something wrong?

bluetooth, sd, DM, or send him a mail and access it through the browser... if you cant do it this way there might just be wrong with the file---

Bluetooth, SD and DM are not an option since he lives pretty far away.

There's gotta be a way to do it through BBM....this is ridiculous. It's only 255kb. That's nothing.

I think BBM just dislikes larger files that aren't pictures. If you could rename files to have a picture extension and then BBM them, I'd bet it would work. But yeah, as everyone's mentioned thus far, your best bet is likely bluetooth file transfer (since it's probably the easiest to work) or exchange memory cards.

does he not have access to an email on a computer? Just send the file to the email address, and he can download it on the computer and upload connecting his phone to the computer

I know!!! I heard that you can send files up to 8MB in size. Now THAT'S what I'm talking about!!!

Too bad 4.6 doesn't allow it.

The guy that the OP wants to send it to lives far away. Their Blackberries won't be able to connect with Bluetooth.

Title of thread: "How to send mp3 to other BB - not through email or mms "

As mentioned before, if you've sent pictures through bbm larger than these MP3 files, then try changing the extension from .mp3 to .jpg and send it. If it works your friend will just have to change the extension back.

i user the send to/recieve via bluetooth in the media player, to send just locate your file, select it then choose menu and you will have a sned via bluetooth option, for him to recieve just have him open the media player then select menu and choose receive via bluetooth, first you will need to pair your devices together after that you can send each other anything of any size, i send a 10MB video once and it was pretty quick, did it across 2 cubicles.
