    Thanks!

I'm not sure about OS6, but I know it was a feature in QuickLaunch.

I have QuickLaunch, but that feature is not available since I am running OS6.

You can always flush the toilet just before you take the image to hide the sound!

General question unrelated to the thread starter, why does everyone always request this feature on every blackberry forum I've ever visited?

I can't think of any reason why the audible sound is a nuisance....

Only reason I can think for this feature would be for malicious purposes, and people taking pictures of unsuspecting individuals, who they don't want to hear the camera sound.

I have cameramuteapp on my 9700 & my 9780, both on OS 6. It works fine. I can't post links but just google "cameramuteapp ota".

Yes it is... Only problem is complying to local law. As I understand many places (USA included?) have laws against using photo devices that do not make noise when you take pictures.

The law has not been passed in the US yet.

I'm using QuickLaunch v3.7 and it does mute the 'click' sound from the camera.

I've heard using headphones will disable the shutter sound. Like it won't disable the sound, but the sound will actually come out of the headphones, not out of the phone's speaker.

An iPhone doesn't make a noise when taking a picture in silent mode.

I have owned 3 and experimented with 2 other BlackBerries and all 5 had no way to turn off the shutter sounds without a third party app. Almost any other cell phone I had before or after my BB's had an option to shut the sound off. Maybe its because a lot of businesses use BB's and its a "security" feature.
