I have a Bold 9700 running 5.0.0.321,
Are there any particular benefits to updating my OS or shall I just save myself the time and continue to use it as it is?
Any new features with a newer version worth mentioning?

well look at it this way, if it aint broke dont fix it...
so if there is nothing wrong with the OS you are currently using then why bother upgrading
but in case you are thinking about it, the latest is 5.0.0.680 and has alot of bug fixes... but like i said if you arent having any issues then why bother
Newer OS versions like .680 don't offer new features. They just fix bugs in prior versions, and often generate new bugs.
I'm staying with 321 until os 6 comes out

.321 is so laggy for me . I upgraded to .680 but didnt like the new locking way and the font was way too big for me .
.656 is the best...I love it and even Crackberry Kevin said it is the best OS for 9700...
My phone came with .405 and I have no interest in upgrading (been there, done that)
If the phone works properly just leave it be.
Just stick with what you have got as none of the new version offer anything worth updating for
I still have my stock .330 and its been working flawless; so if aint have problems with your current os then there's no need to update.

Same here...5 plus months, no problems.

Still running 405 myself...don't have time anymore to chase OS's...with the 9000 it was necessary but with this phone it was released pretty solid...like someone above said...new revisions fix bugs and occasionally add a new function but sometimes it creates new bugs and you give back battery life

Im running the stock OS since I bought mine in Jan. I will wait for OS 6 (if available).
I'm still on the stock .593 and its fine as it is. I upgraded the OS on my wifes BB but that was from os4 to os5 so the changes were worth it, there's nothing on offer to upgrade my own.
Even when and if OS6 becomes available for the 9700 I'm still going to wait a while and read with interest the reviews by everyone else to see if there's any problems

I've got the .351 version it's running good for me. Some freezing but nothing too much to bug me. Not sure though on proper ways to upgrade as I try and do wireless updates but says nothin about updating it
