Having issues that may be related to settings and hoping re-install of OS will help.
Blackberry Desktop Manager software automatically does full restore of settings.
I would like to just do partial selective restore of data without settings.
Anyone know how to do this?

Phone is 9900 through Cincinnati bell.

Just for info, my two issues are:
    1) Loudspeaker volume - I believe this may be from an hourly chimes app that I installed since the app never worked right and had volume issues of its own.
Last week the speaker volume went to max for everything (even keyboard sounds).
After a while of this, it killed the speaker and I replaced it.
After reinstall of OS with automatic restore, the new speaker works fine. I am able to properly control volume for music, ring tones, and events where there is an option to control volume.
For other items where you cant control volume (such as keyboard sounds and other minor events), the volume is very faint.

    2) When switching from WIFI calling (UMO) to tower, it will not be able to locate signal sometimes (even if tower is near).
Have to turn off and remove battery to fix the problem.
Also happens going the other way too (from tower to wifi).

I tried dropping back to OS 7.0 (still with desktop manager automatically restoring) but it didn't change these problems.

I THINK the Desktop software allows selective restore as an option. Not near it at the moment.

    Ok - thanks
    I think I got it.
When installing OS you select not to backup and then it does not restore automatically.
    You restore manually afterwards.

So - clearing all data and installing OS 7.1 did not fix the sound problem.
The keyboard and other non adjustable sounds are even lower volume than before.
Ringtones and music still works fine and can adjust volume.

    Anyone have comments?
