I'd say it's a certainty that OS 6 is going to be on the 9700. It won't be as nice as it will be on the 9800, but it will be on the 9700. RIM doesn't ditch their flagship only a year after release.

I have a question as well. I currently have a curve 8330, and the dang track ball keeps sticking and the phone has become so laggy it's unbeliveable. I'm quite sick of it to be honest and though my contract isn't up for 2 more years, the price on the bold seems quite sensible (considering what I paid for my storm RIP).
I don't do a lot of web browsing. I do snap a fair few pics and some videos, but primarily I use it for email/BBM/SMS/MSNMSNGR ... I like the gimmickness of the iPhone, but do you think the Bold would be more suitable? I like the look and the keyboard on the bold, just have had so many troubles with the curve and the storm I'm a bit gun-shy on RIM at the moment!!
Lol, so I'm not the only one that has noticed...I can't wait either!
Understandable. In my experience with the Bold, it is a great device. It depends on what type of web browsing you do, as this is the only advantage the iPhone has over the BB. You should also consider the battery life of the iPhone (not good) and the problems people have had with them. I'd say Bold, but considering your past experiences with RIM, I know it's a tough decision.
if I could have sex with or marry a phone, I would do both to my 9700. Seriously, I love it so much. I know this sounds ridiculous but it is the best communication device I've ever seen or used. iPhone is a great device, but it is more of a "fun" gadget than a communication device. And all of the app's are mostly gimmick's that won't get used more than a couple times.
If you value communication and usability, go with a 9700.
I've had my 9700 for a while now and I love it. Have AT&T and have never had a problem with calls or anything else. Battery life has been good as well. As far as certain people in here bragging about iPhone. Don't believe them. I know 3 people that have gone thru 3 separate phones in the last 6 months, junk. Two got refunds (finally!) and went with BB. Haven't seen the other guy for a while, so don't know what he finally came up with. Same is true for the Incredible..nothing but trouble. Haven't heard any real problems with the Droid though. But they're really just playthings. If you want a good, reliable phone without all the battery eating glitz...go with a BB 9700. If you just want glitz, and probably headaches, go with the iPhone. By the way, what's with the software problem has known about for months...showing full bars, when they knew in most cases they had about a third of that. The just blamed all of the dropped calls on AT&T...now they finally had to admit it was there software all along. Yeah, great iPhone!
I love my 9700. Its perfect for what I use it for. Text, Email and some surfing. Love bb messenger too.
