Go to options, go to advanced options, go to SIM card, then hold down the left shift key and type in MEPD, it should say disabled or inactive! Hope this works for you!

How do you unlock the phone?
You call verizon with a paid up account and sufficient months or years or whatever they require and they will walk you through the steps - Global support folks do it.
mine says "sim card : security disabled" does that mean its locked or unlocked?
It just means that you have the Verizon/Vodafone SIM that came pre-installed in your phone still installed in your phone. The phone is setup to recognize that SIM but will say ether invalid SIM or unrecognized SIM (or something along those lines) if you use a different SIM
It is still locked down for GSM. Ether call Verizon or go to a 3rd party unlocker for unlocking.
A bit comfused.New Sprint 9650 user. Mine says disabled for all. Does that mean it is unlocked?
I unlocked through Verizon a few weeks ago. My says "Disabled" in all lines EXCEPT NETWORK where it says "INACTIVE."
Supposedly, Sprints come UNlocked.
If your device is "unlocked", it should say Disabled or Inactive. If it says Active, it's still locked to that carrier.
How do I determine if my BlackBerry is "unlocked"? - BlackBerryFAQ
There are two kinds of locks:
1. Sim lock: Go to options/ advanced options/ Sim Card, then hold down the left shift key and type in MEPD. If your device is "locked", it should say "Active".
2. CDMA lock: Dial ##000000 and then hit the call button. If your device is "locked", it should say "invalid password".
I pressed the ##000000 and a screen with a lot of information popped up

2. CDMA lock: Dial ##000000 and then hit the call button. If your device is "locked", it should say "invalid password". When do we use this thing?
