You can't watch live TV on a 9700, or almost any other phone on the market, as it doesn't have a built-in TV receiver.

The best you can do is watch recorded TV shows as videos.

Try the BBC iPlayer BBC Mobile | BlackBerry Shortcut Applications which works great with the 9700

IF you have a slingplayer then you can use :
Slingbox.com - SlingPlayer Mobile for BlackBerry

I know the iPhones/iPod Touch can stream live TV via Dreambox (linux based satellite box) in mpeg4 > Air Video > iPhone . Which I am going to look into this weekend for my own setup i.e. DM > Air Video Server > BB.

Hence, you need something you can stream from...

Telstra in Australia streams Foxtel pay TV over 3G for Telstra subscribers.

http://mobiletv.telstra.com/startAction.do (you may or may not be able to see this page on a non-Telstra phone, but a PC browser gives an idea)

There are about 32 channels for $18 per month and Foxtel data download is unmetered

SPB TV BlackBerry Software SPB Software

    SPB TV.

May not have a lot of English-speaking Channels but it's better than nothing, and it's cheaper than slingbox ($9.99)
