    ok did a device swipe. still have the same problem. figured out that something is wrong with the shift key. the phone is going back. but now i have another question........................ i am going to use my old bb bold and i did a swipe on it too and went through the whole process. my question is.. why are my pictures and ringtones still on the phone? i thought it was suppose to delete everything.

    Yea.. that would have made sense to see if the shift or alt key even worked.

    There on your SD card, not your phones memory. There is an option to wipe that also.

    Options>Security Options>Security Wipe. There should be three choices.. one is the Media Card (SD card). It will wipe whatever is on it.. pics, music, videos.

    You cannot delete the pics that come pre-loaded on the phone. (well actually you can if you really wanted to but it's a little complicated)

    yes, do a wipe to clean your phone. upgrade to the latest os which would be 5.0.0.681 (at the date of this post) and then plug your phone in to desktop manager. then got to backup/restore and do an advanced restore. make sure you only restore your contacts. see if that works.

    I think do the battery pull and try pressing alt and scroll. Hope it'll work.
