I created an email folder that holds my email accounts. How can I change the icon the folder uses beyond the few stock icons supplied?

Thanks for the link wolfmanrobby. It sucks though that one is limited to those ugly default ones only

I've only ever seen themes have custom icons SET on the folders, but not that give you more folder icons to choose from for folders you make.

Bummer. I wish there were more options besides the colored folders and blank folders with colored tabs. Seriously, the options are lame.

6th post down that page, the developer answers the question of if it can change FOLDER icons...

no. you can not change folders.
And again, on page two, post 46 he says:

Due to the limitation of the API folder icons can not be changed.
    Good try though.

there should be some sort of OTA package of icons you can download for these things, that'd be awesome and seems like something some developer could easily do. anybody heard of anything like this?

the magicicon app is a nice idea, but you're not actually changing the icons with it, you're creating a duplicate program/folder with a new icon and then have to hide the old one, and on a phone with limited memory as is, i'm not going to waste a single kb i don't have to.

Just follow the same instructions and everything wll go back to normal:

Warning: Please make sure you didn't delete anything else, otherwise you may affect your phone functionallity....if you are a newbie better to backup your BB before to proceed with the steps below.

    1) Plug your BB as USB Drive
    2) Go to folder:
    Blackberry\System\appdata\rim\webstorage
    3) Add a new folder with the name below:
    net_rim_bb_file_explorer.Media
"Make sure you copy the name exactly, since media shall be with capital M"
If folder does exist - check the files listed on step 4 are on that folder.
    4) Go to folder: System\media
copy (COPY and DO NOT delete the files from the System\media folder - Very important this step) the files on that folder (musicart.dat, podcastart.dat, ringtoneart.dat and videoart.dat....also any other dat file on that folder)
into the folder you have created on step 3)
    5) Do a soft reset "alt+shift+del"
    6) Once reboot you will see all the files back in the media folder

    Good luck and enjoy!
