I am not sure if ATT has the same feature as T-Mobile, but with T-Mobile:

    1. I installed Desktop Manager
    2. Connect phone to computer using USB cable.
    3. Open Desktop Manager
    4. Click On "IP Modem"
    5. Click on the "Configure" button.
    6. Select your network provider from the list and press OK.
    7. Click on "Connect" button under "Connect to the Internet"
    8. Allow connection to establish and you are tethered.

I have not been able to test this with AT&T since I do not have AT&T service.

Let me know if this helps.

For att, there is no option for ip modem. I think it maybe phone configuration that has been off by phone setting.

Anyone know how to turn it on?

    Thanks

You can purchase Tether...it allows your computer to use your Blackberry's internet connection...it costs 50 bucks, but I think it's worth it. You just gotta monitor your usage to make sure you're not abusing it...(sometimes it goes on sale for half off)

i have BB Bold 1 and BB bold 2 the problem is when i connect my bb bold 9000 the desktop manager shows IP Modem and when i connect BB Bold 9700 the IP Modem disappears.
so i cannot use 9700 as a modem but with 9000 i can, both are from same provider
