How can I easily record a phone call ?
Hi. I haven't used a BB before till i gotten my bold. Can someone tell me if there's an easy way to record a phone conversation with the bold ? Can the record software be link to a special key so that you just need to press one single in order to record the speech between me and the person who calls me ? My old nokia 6300 does it very easily, can't see how the Bold would not be able to do that.
Thank you for your help
BB recorder thread...back from the dead
Sorry for having to resurrect this old crusty thread but it kept popping up in google search so I figured this will help other folks like us seeking the perfect BB call recording app.
And mVoice looks like it may be the only option out there!
Is there anyone who has actually used this program with their BB successfully in recording both sides of the call for both incoming and outgoing, without any hassle or stupid clicks/beeps like some recording software?
mVoice SAYS their program records both sides but you need to do a little fiddling with settings 1st.
Excerpt from their FAQ:
"mVoice will only record one side of a phone conversation. How should I set mVoice to record both sides of the phone conversation?
When a phone call is active, mVoice will always record both sides of the conversation. In order to increase volume of the both sides you can enable the "audio filter" option from the "Recording Quality" menu. Also, mVoice will remove any background noise. You can also adjust recording volume using side keys."
I don't know about anyone else, but the reasons why I personally need to know is because:
1. I need to upgrade from my Palm Centro (using CallRec) to something with more app-capacity, speed, and anti-malware/hack security, while still being able to record calls like my Centro. So, like many others apparently, this call-recording issue is really the only thing holding me up from purchasing a BB!
2. My memory isn't all that great, and as a business owner call recording (preferrably automatic) essentially acts as the other half of my brain. Especially when I am out and unable to set down what I'm doing to type out any client info/appointment dates. So I don't have a choice, really. I NEED to record calls on my smartphone.
3. I also use it for recording calls "for quality assurance and staff-training purposes" which is legal because that is clearly indicated to incoming callers beforehand via my automated virtual call-ctr's greeting (eVoice) before they dial the extension to get to my smartphone. (I don't record outgoing calls)
4. Don't want to be glued to some clunky, funky recording device hooked to my smartphone
5. Don't want to have to change my business number I give out to some Google # and have alter all my marketing materials to suit a number I may not want to/need to/be able to keep for the foreseeable future.
6. Using the speakerphone method to record calls (been there, done that) is NOT practical unless I'm at home/somewhere in a relatively quiet space and no sensitive information is being mentioned during the call.
I just really wish it was as easy and effortless as its been with CallRec on my Centro phone! :( Has anyone had any luck with this mVoice program??
