Nope as long as you guys have the usb cable to connect his bb to your computer you'll be fine. Does he have a media card on his berry? Hopefully so because you don't need to save pics to the device memory. Once you plug the berry in the pc it will load the drivers for usb storage device. Make sure you enable mass storage mode when prompted and the berry acts like any removavble drive and you can drag and drop files to and from the bb. Hope this helps...

When you plug the bb into the pc you should receive a prompt to do so. If you don't go to options>media card>mass storage mode support: ON is what it should say then you will see it as a removable drive in the pc.

well the phone is all hooked up and when i go to my computer I can not see his phone, also he has a 4gig micro card in it.

Does the pc you guys have windows on it? If so go to the device manager and see if it recognizes it. If not you may have to reinstall usb drivers.

i have vista 64 bit

i put it into a diffrent usb port and atm it installed the drives and says "the software for this device has been successfully installed" then below it says

i take it it is connected because well its charging and everything.
Im just unable to see it on my computer so i cant drag or drop files.

You can use the roxio media manager on the desktop manager software to do this as well. Do you have this software on your pc?

No i do not, its jsut a pluged in phone at the moment lol..

i guess im lost, it says the drivers are installed and ready to use but i cant locate the phone its self so how will this program find the phone?

just the desktop software v4.7 correct?

I have version 4.5 and some have said they had problems with 4.7 but go for it if ya want. I have never used 4.7...
