I paid $299 for my Bold and not only was it worth it, I feel like I ripped THEM off getting this device for that price. I'd have happily paid more. All they ask for is a two year contract? I wasn't leaving ATT anyway so what a great deal!

I paid $299. for mine 2 weeks before Christmas. I had a curve for almost a year and a half before that and wasn't looking for an upgrade...I LOVED IT! Then the trackball on my curve fell out (with help ), I panicked and ordered my BOLD only to find out I could fix my trackball for less than $10. I thought, I will send the BOLD back when I receive it...too much money right before Christmas. Yeah right...haven't looked back since! Love it and totally worth the money! Trying to talk hubby into upgrading his curve when he can upgrade (Feb)

Ouch sounds expensive. I got mine for free from Orange UK as an upgrade. Pretty much why I have stayed with them for the last five years they always give me what I want...maybe its just my amazing telephone manner...or most probably that I always spend too much on my phone whatever deal I am on!

I paid $475 (X2), the wife, but I LOVE THE BOLD, and I just sent out the rebate forms for $100 each, I LITERALLY CAN'T PUT THIS THING DOWN, I had to pay the early upgrade fee of $75 for each line, it was definitely worth it

Right! Is this the reason you can get a curve for nearly 99.00 bucks, and all the welfare recipients now own bb's? I tend to think it's not the phone for people who don't utilize every feature, but rim has made a way to appeal to people who could not afford bb's before as did apple. I don't care how much money I have sitting in the bank, the reason I could afford this phone was because I make careful and well thought out decisions financially, you would be a fool to drop 400.00 on a phone (even if you loved it) and never ever think about the price you just paid, because had it been a crappy phone (like the storm) and you paid 400.00 for it, that would be the first thing you'd complain about.
    A little uptight are we........................

Got mine for $250 after $100 mail-in-rebate (they don't give rebate till ur 30 day buyer remorse is up) Had the motorola v3 since 2005. So yeah, this is my first PDA. I almost went with the storm. So glad I didn't after seeing all the bad reviews about all the glitches that phone had.

It did not cost me anything, I exchanged my USED white iphone for this 1 day "old" Bold. The guy was so desperate 2 have a white unlocked iphone that he did not care the the iphone was 3 month old. The guy was with ATT he just didn't want 2 extend his contract or pay the extra data plan

If you paid little or nothing for the phone ---
How much are you going to pay total for the life of the CONTRACT??

Here in New York City some stores 'give' you a 'phone' and some cash back in advance. THEN you must sign a contact for avogradros years long for services that you can purchase much lower with no phone - and it is cheaper to separately purchase an unlocked phone.
You ain't gettin' no'tin for freeeee. (except of you won it or 'found' it.)
