My BB died on me and a friend had one that he wasn't using, so I am borrowing it off him in the meantime.

    It's a T-Mobile 9700.

I got this unlocked and have put my Sim Card in the phone - from reading other posts, I expected that I wouldn't be able to get 3G network due to the difference in frequencies from T-Mob to Rogers, but still expected that it would work on EDGE.

Lo and behold, when I popped my Sim in to the T-Mob 9700, it does pick-up the network, and I have full bars on EDGE.

The only problem is, if I try to make calls or pretty much do anything, I get a few recurring Error Messages. When I make a call it is the following: Sorry, only emergency calls are allowed. And when I try to do other stuff, it is '________ (Camera) has been disabled by your system administrator'.

Does this have anything to do with the unlock? I've tried everything I can think of... I did a complete wipe using JL_Cmder and upgraded the OS to OS 6 from OS 5 hoping that would solve the problem but no luck!

Has anyone experienced this before? Does this have something to do with the phone? Network? Anything I can do to fix this or is it lost?

    Thanks in advance.
