    Go to Options>About and there should be something like BlackBerry 9000 smartphone (3G, Wi-Fi). Should be the third line.

    I believe thats the OS is comes with, well what I suggest is to try to update to a new OS (i.e. .282) and see if that solves your issue. Could be a network fault too, but upgrading your OS would be a first step.

    Upgrading your OS can be quite time consuming so I suggest that if you want to give it a shot then you do it when you have some time available. For now yes, if the problem persists then it maybe be a network problem and you'd have to contact your carrier.

    Since your Bold is worthless, can I have it? I'll even pay for shipping.

    Oh and please lay off the caps! Since the early 90s, typing in all CAPS is considered shouting on the internet.

    You might want to resend your service books before investing time & effort in an OS upgrade.

    Login to your BIS account and resend from there.

    Or, on your Bold:

    Setup --> email Settings
    Login to your account
    Menu --> Service Books
    Hit the Send Service Books button.

    Upgrading takes like 45 minutes I don't know why everyone on here makes it sound like you need a bagged lunch and sleeping bag to do it.

    After you've done it a number of times, yes.

    But the first time you do an OS upgrade can be nerve wracking (with all the what if scenarios running through your head). Those first couple of times do take longer (and sure feel a lot longer).

    I'm no techophobe, and more than handy with electronic equipment, but I can tell you I heaved a huge sigh of relief when my Bold came back to life after doing its very fisrt upgrade (after what seemed to be an eternity). It's all relative I guess.
