    According to this thread: http://forums.crackberry.com/f100/wi...25/index2.html
you can go into the engineering screen and set the codec to AMR-F.

It's supposed to make the call quality better. Since I have been having trouble with call quality, I was wondering if this has worked for any of you.

    Thanks for the input.

Yup sure does, also note it only applies to voice calls in 2G aka GSM calls.

personally, i cant really tell much of a difference. also, keep in mind it will reset back to the default codec upon rebooting the phone.

lets say you access this change via the TEMPORARY engineering screen ( i haven't unbranded) will it stay after a battery pull? the 2g/3g changes never did or they only lasted up to 30 days or something...

edit: nevermind, the previous comment was added between my page loading and me posting this

Yeah to someone who does frequent battery pulls it can be annoying. But on the plus side it takes all of what 10 seconds to put it back.
