I'm just curious to see if anyone has gone into an AT&T store, picked up a Blackberry Bold, and haggled on the price for the $199.99(refurb 2-yr contract Price) or the $299.99(2-yr contract price) with an AT&T Sales Rep.

If so, what price did you get yours for?

i bought mine outright for $449 in store. Basically I got the 100$ mail in rebate for free and an extra $100 off the phone. I was basically threatening to cancel my contract, holding a sprint brochure, and just got lucky!

I got a refurb Bold for free online. It was a one-day promotional to attract new ATT customers. Anyone jump in on this deal? It was about a month ago.

Hey guys, new to the formums. Just thought i'd contribute:

I called customer retention center and said i was leaving to go to sprint, could they cut me a deal?
they gave me the bold (new) for 199.99 flat, no rebates.
    I'm addicted now. Lol.

I also had the 2 year contract renewal thrown in there too.

i was in at&t last week and was a verizon customer considering switching. the guy told me it was $300 new, or $200 refurb and then a $100 rebate. while i was considering it, he asked me to hold on while he went to the back for a minute. he came back, turned his back to other customer, and quietly said to me "i can do $150 instead of $300 on a new one, and you still get the rebate so in the end it's $50". needless to say, i accepted his offer.

That didn't happen. A store rep really couldn't give half a flying turd if you were going to cancel. It doesn't touch his metrics so he'd tell you to go right ahead.

At the actual store there are no refurb phones. Those are available online. You can have the best chances if you call their customer service and are an existing customer. The folks in the stores cannot do or will not do anything. Good Luck.

I just got a bold by haggling for an upgrade! I was due for an upgrade, and called customer service to try and get the free deal. But it was only for new accounts. Well after about 45 minutes on phone they told me that they'd knock of $50 and give me the refurb for $149 with upgrade. Well I was upset at time I couldn't get oit for nothing I told em to forget it. Well 3 weeks to a month went by' and I figured I'd try again. No go again on the free bold, but were still gonna do the $149 bold deal they quoted me the first time, so finally I said ok. But to make the story shorter, the customer service guy thought that quote was for a new one, and he couldn't believe they erw givig me a bnib for $149! I didn't say a thing! So I ended up getting a bnib bold for $149 for my upgrade instead of the refuerb! Yeehaw, thanks att!

Got 2 brand spanking new ones for $99 a piece after haggling with ATT customer service on the phone. Easier to haggle with them and get it escalated up the chain to get what you want. I posted a thread on exactly how I did it if you search a bit. I was even able to get them to give me one of them without a data plan. So I now have 4 Bold's at the house....3 for me (2 for testing purposes 1 for personal use) and 1 for the wifey. Also was able to get another 8900 from T-mobile customer service without haveing service with them for $120 doing the same thing but smooth talking them about the non-service.

your best bet is to ask for the new one for $149. i was considering it at regular price ($300 - $100 rebate) and the guy asked a manager and then offered me $149 - $100 rebate so $50 in the end.

That is how I typically do it... tell 'em "I rather pay the $150(or whatever it is) cancellation fee and go to your competitor for a free phone).

On my recent bold I got:
$100 mail in rebate (what every one is getting)
    $175 credit to my account.
