Just as a quick note, the 9000 doesn't have a full screen either, if you really look at it. I use a silicone sleeve so i never realized it. Once you fall in love with the 9700 u won't even notice the screen.
Looks real sweet, can't wait to November to get mine with AT&T!
*sigh*
there was a time in which i dreamed of this phone.
the onyx [imo] looks cheaper than the 'almighty' BOLD9000.
the thick black frame bordering the onyx's screen is horrid.
the 9000 upper speaker is actually a part of the screen which gives
a sharper edge to it.
as far as the BOLD being bigger, i have big hands so its actually
accomodable[used to get cramps typing on the 8900 keyboard]
When is this phone coming to Canada?! These pictures are amazing! What's the point of my new $500 camera when I could just use this phone?!
Because, if you actually spent $500, then I hope you bought a camera that is much better than a 3.2 MP BlackBerry one. I have a $50-100 dollar Kodak 7 MP that is okay for my needs. However, I could see replacing it with this phone since I shrink my 7 MP 3000+ pixel photos down to 1920 max anyways. However, a $500 camera would be hitting lower-end professional models and should out-do the Onyx camera in all aspects (a camera professional will probably laugh at my "lower-end professional" comment, as those are probably many many 1000's).
Either way, it it a camera for everyday photos; nothing professional.

Yes... Even though it looks good compared to the 2.0 mp camera... Let me take a picture with my 8 MP SLR and show you just how bad the 3.2 mp looks. The camera is good for random shots when you won't have a camera handy.
As for the Onyx... is it me or did the Bold still seem zippier and faster when it came to opening menu or apps? I thought the Onyx shared the same processor. You said you bought it from somebody for $700.00 which is 50% less than what my friend was trying to sell his to me. My buddy wanted 1400.00 for his Onyx.
Though from what I've seen, besides the obviously better trackpad, i think I'm going to hold off on the Onyx. I mean it's obviously a good phone, but I've been hearing great things of what is coming in 2010 and I know if I get the Onyx, i'll feel bad when the next devices come.

I think you mean someone else. I never bought an Onyx. My only BlackBerry was an 8703 back with my previous company.

The mega pixels has nothing to do with the picture quality unless you blow them up. Its the lens that makes the difference.
