Ok, currently using my 9780 as my primary, with my. Old 8320 as my back-up phone if something should happen to my bold. As the next gen phones are looming on the horizion, I was curious what others thought might be a better back-up phone, or should I wait for the 9900 or Mmonaco and keep my 9780 as a back-up?

What is most important is having a back up Blackberry, period. What ever you can afford. I even sync mine every month when I charge it so it is ready to go.

I have lost my phone before and was back in business in less than an hour. Just depends on how important you phones is to you!

do you really need to update to the 9900 considering the 9780 isn't that old. Is there something that the 9900 you really need right away?
but if you indeed plan on updating, yeah keep the 9780 as a back up.
