I accidentally took my battery out while my Bold was still on. When I put it back in I got error messages and now all of my photos, ringtones, and videos are gone. The BBM, text, email, and message icons are all gone too. What can I do to retrieve them? Afterwards I'm gonna download a better OS.
That's actually the recommended way to reboot the phone when it is not working right. If you did it while it was writing data to the internal memory or memory card, it could have corrupted the memory. I would turn on mass storage mode and hook it up to your pc to see if you can access the memory to retrieve your ringtones and other stuff.I accidentally took my battery out while my Bold was still on.
Just tried pullin the battery again and this restored everything. Do you happen to know which new OS is the best? Also is there a modified back cover that I can get so that the ringer is louder?
As far as a good OS, .247, .266, and .282(that is stickied at the top of this forum) are good builds.
