Hello all,
Anyone knows where I could buy really genuine 9780 battery in France, or in England? I bought 3 that I thought were genuine, but all are from China and last only a day or less...
Thanx for your replies :)

Hello all,

Here's one from Amazon UK. http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001C55M7...bUvbUpU8736123
@middbrew: So which of the market place sellers did you try to link to there? A quick glance at the feedback shows a lot of scammers running through that link. Have you had a good battery from there? If so, what was the name of the seller?
@ LeKeiser: Is is the SELLER you need to be able to trust. Pick a reputable company and you should get a reputable battery. Pick an unknown seller on Ebay or Amazon Marketplace and you are likely to find knock-offs. Really frustrating.
Hello :)
Well I have ordered 3 batteries from 3 different sellers, and none of them are genuine... I really wonder if there are still some available somewhere :O
That really does not surprise me. I keep having to deal with bad quality fakes in the computer world. The most frustrating part is knowing that there ARE good guys out there selling the real thing but it is just very very hard to find them when you have to wade through so many scams on the way.
LeKeiser, you may be right in that there are no genuine batteries available anymore. However the link I posted says it's from RIM. so I would think it is the real deal.
@middbrew: That is a MARKETPLACE dealer and no mention of RIM. With the Amazon Marketplace the product comes from one of many different dealers. The top of the list always being the cheapest supplier who is not always the best. Some of these scammers are worse than on EBay.
You need to read the reviews of any Marketplace item. Both item and seller. Especially electronics like this. It is clear that many of the sellers are not matching that photo with an original - or even new - battery in many cases.
It is one of the frustrating sides of Amazon. Dealing with people who don't know what they are doing is frustrating.
The link I posted says it's sold by RIM. I'm guessing when you are clicking on it that it is taking you to a different page.
But you are right, with either Amazon or ebay, you need to be careful with who you buy from.
It may say "by RIM" - but check the sellers. They are all little league. They look more like they have linked into RIM's photo.
I've been caught by this before. Technically we have the "Sales of Goods" act to work with, but when you have a small time seller you end up in an argument. I've been caught by hard disks being sold, but turning up in jiffy bags! Or buying "official" blackberry phone holder only to get some knockoff copy sent to me.
Oh - and every time I have clicked on your link, I notice a different seller has managed to get on top with "cheapest price". A minefield for the unaware.
Hello all,
Got a good website I think : [HLI-9000SL] Buy Mugen Power 1800mAh Extended Replacement Battery for Blackberry Bold 9000 / Bold 2 / 9780 / 9700
not genuine battery, but at least, it's a known brand. I think I'll order one and test it. Bit more expensive, but quality isn't cheap :)
That's sounds good. Hope it works for you.
Battery received yesterday, been charged for about 6 hours, will let you know how it goes :)
I have approx 6 good batteries from my 9780 that aren't being used. Let me know if you need any for a nominal price shipped
Q10, 9900, 9780, 8330, 7520, 7510 And Playbook!
thanx, I'll let you know if the Mugen battery doesn't suit me :)
out of curiosity, how come you have 6 batteries?
