    It's been an experience almost akin to getting blood out of a stone, but today, after 7 days, I got my brand new Bold from Orange. I'm so relieved. If anyone's interested, it's still on .96 (92? Memory is fuzzy) software.

    Did you buy it online or through a store?

    How did you go about getting it replaced, and how much effort was it?

    What was wrong with it, that you needed it replacing?

    Through a retail store, but not the same store from where I purchased it.

    I had it replaced because my first Bold had information on it that a previous user had stored on it (clearly used for some amount of time). I demanded a brand new device and, eventually, got what I wanted.

    I have to say, I was lied to a fair amount on the way, from a basic "you have to replace it in the store you bought it from originally" to "You are within your rights to cancel the contract because of this". They replaced the Bold in a different store and refused to cancel the contract, so two out of four people lied, and two told the truth. Will never really know, but it doesn't endear me to their CS at all.

    Pleased to haer that you managed to get a replacement... at last!

    Sounds like you had to be pretty persistant though!
