The last week Ive been wondering if I should've gotten the 8900. The standby key is easier to hit, battery will last longer (I use EDGE only), and the camera is better. Someone please dig it into my head that the Bold is the better device!

Can't help you. Aside from 3G the 8900 is superior on every
level. Yesthe Bold has the faster processor, but the differences in
    speed are unnoticeable by most.

Hey bud i got tmo and i used an unlocked Bold, i used to have an 8900 before as well. Trust me the bold is a better device in the sense that the processor is alot snappier than the 8900, there 1GB onboard mem that often comes in handy and the Bold has a much better, larger keyboard and screen. Even though the camera is more MPs, there is not a huge difference in the quality of the pix one would snap. Besides, the Bold is alot better in appearance than the 8900 (personal opinion). The Bold is just a lot classier and reliable than the 8900, and thats all i can say from experience. The only thing i really miss from the 8900 is the lock key up on the top since one can also unlock the device with that button. Hope this helps!

Couple things to point out here:
1gb on board memory but only 128mb is user addressable
Bigger screen yes but the 8900 has the higher resolution
Camera - trust me having had a Bold the 8900 camera smokes it
Reliability - all BlackBerrys (except the Storm) are equally reliable.

I tried both, and I found it easier to type on the Bold, due to the larger size. The 8900 was just too small for me.

I really do not care about the camera. There is not much difference between 2 and 3 MP. If I want high quality pictures, I'll use my SLR, not my cell phone.

You don't use your phone as a camera, or at least you shouldn't use it as your primary camera. So aside from the Camera the Bold is superior. Some ofthe problems might be the user always looking for something better. I'm not immune to this either. May be if we just keep what we have we and not worry what color the grass is on he other side of the fence we would be better off. Alas I type this as my new to me Bold is home waiting for me to return from vacation. No one ever said I follow my own advice.

I don't have enough money for a regular camera. The 8900 was very small when I tried it out, but I like a lot about it. I just can't switch down to it. That's the problem. Plus in my travels, I have noticed I get better 3G coverage than edge coverage.

well, its vacations, i usually remember the camera first rather than my cell phone...

there are quite a number of cellphones out there with 5mp cameras, my best guess is that rim's primary focus point is not having a supadupapowefullll camera otherwise they would have already implemented these on their cell phones. 3.15mp will be the standard for rim devices, it seems it will be quite a while before we see a 5mp blackberry camera phone

The 8900 is superior if you disregard the 3G. I guess the keyboard is arguable since people with larger hands tend to use the Bold versus the 8900.

I'd agree.. if you don't care about 3G, then the keyboard is probably your deciding factor. I can't stand the Curve style of spacing the keys apart. I went from Pearl->Bold, so I never got used to the 8300 type keyboard, so that probably helps.

My battery lasts somewhere between a day->2 days, depending on use. I charge it every night, so it's not a big deal. Using Google Maps and GPS/Wifi drains it a bit faster, though.
