This is just a little farewell dedicated to my Blackberry Bold 9700, which has served me well for the past 2 years. Oh how I loved thee.

After many drops, never a crack a saw.....It may have slowed a bit in the past three months, but nothing a battery pull could not handle.

Unfortunately the Blackberry bold 9900 will soon be released, and I doubt I will be able to wait to have it in my hands.

But to my Blackberry Bold 9700...aka 'the WORKHORSE' you have done well and deserve retirement with all your buttons intact.

Since the Blackberry 9900 is a larger size, I will unfortunately have to retire all the beautiful cases I purchased to accessorize my 'workhorse'......

Well, you could still use the holster, just will be a bit tight of a fit. I used my 8130's and it wasn't that bad, I just had to remember to lock it before holstering it, or the camera would be triggered. Any silicone cases, hmm, it should fit, might be a bit too tight (I love cramming stuff into things that aren't meant to fit loosely)

PS. keep the 9700 as a spare, cause you'll never know...

The 9700 was my first Blackberry. I had resisted a smartphone for the longest time and within a couple of hours I was thinking "Where have you been all my life!"

I've upgraded to the Torch 9810 because I needed a bigger screen and better web browsing but still having a keyboard. I was flip flopping between the Bold touch and the Torch but screen size in the end was the deciding factor being visually impaired.

9700, you were my first and won't be my last but we had a good ride. You're still my backup phone just in case something bad happens.

Went to the Voda shop on Saturday to just get my hands on this wonderful much hyped 9900 device. Wow, so disappointed. The build quality compared to my trusted old 9700 was rubbish. Now I hear that it doesn't even have an auto focus camera and if the battery lasts a day you are very lucky.

I will wait till Voda UK stock the 9810 and have a look at that but I'm not getting too excited.

I did exactly the same Alan. Huge disappointment.

Forget the 9810 though... go for the 9790
