Unless you are thinking of getting one of the big 3000mAh batteries which come with a different battery cover and looks like ****. I don't know what the point of getting a 1650mAh one over the stock 1500mAh one. you are getting about 10% more battery life. 11 hours vs 10 hours, let say.

Of course if you are getting a back up one and keep both charged all the time. get the extended one.

The 3000mAh ones are dreadful looking with a stupid block hanging out of the back of the back cover. The one I bought is 2400mAh and although it comes with a "Free" cover, It doesn't have that extra stupid block on the back.

It was only 14 GBP though, so its no big loss if I wont be using it.

I bought a car charger just in case I ever run into any problems. Of course with the 6 BB's I have owned, I have extra home chargers, so I just keep one at the office in case I need it. Have not needed either one yet and I don't feel I get great battery life. I hate the look of the extended battery too. Just my thoughts.

Extended batteries are bulky. It is difficult to find a case and/or holster that will fit.

I have a charging pod at home and the offices as well as a car charger. In addition, there is the Case-Mate Fuel Holster which charges at night and during the day charges the BB in the holster. The holster add less bulk that the extended battery.

I was figuring just getting 1650s two of them, and a fuel pack holster. That'd probably work. I'd hate to use the bloody Fat Batts cuz... man I like my holster!

Get a PowerStation for the Bold to charge both batteries at the same time.

I bought a spare battery for mine but I specfically wanted a standard sized one.

Even in London I coulnd't find a BB battery for the Bold anywhere. In the end I bought one from a local shop, non BB and only 1350mah but that in addition to the standard battery is enough to get me through the day and means I can still use the standard battery cover and holster.

I bought a 300 mah battery from hong kong. $20 with the big back plate. It's not as slim, but it's no big deal. I use an old holster for an 8830 and it fits snug in there. I rotate between the batteries on trips. Drove to Key West from Pa the other day. 13 hrs of mp3, BBM, internet and calls used half of my charge. I'll deal with the size, for that kind of performance. When I got here, I switched the small battery back in for limited day time use.

The biggest problem with those gigantic extended batteries is that there aren't any firm-fitting cases that will fit with those things on.
I think I would get a spare battery to keep with me rather than one of the really big extended batteries.

We just got the Case-Mate Fuel Holster in our store this week! This thing is pretty cool. Forget the extended battery, get one of these!
