I have a 16gb media card and it works perfectly. It also only cost about $50 while a 16gb iPod costs a few hundred. What is bad about a blackberry for music?

its all about user preference at the end of the question

Only time I use mine for music is when I'm listening to slacker radio at work.

Anyone else use slacker and think it destroys battery life?

Its a bit big to take running imo, thou i would like having it along for gps data like avg speed and distance.
I had an armband for my old mp3 player for running, maybe you can get something alike for the bold...

And the ppl saying it sucks for music, lol, its just as bad as the ipod, neither supports proper formats or treat the music like it should have been.

It supports mp3 which is all I need. I don't see ANY difference in sound with it and a iPod

Me, I never really used my bb for music until I got slacker radio and that sucked my battery down. Pandora isn't much better either. Guess it might have to do with the whole constantly downloading media all day long thing. Oh well...can't have it all.

Yeah its killer. I find dropping it down from 3G to Edge helps though and it helps keep a consistent connection to slacker.

I use my Bold when I workout at home. I just blast the music using the speakers. It's loud enough for me. But when I go biking I don't listen to music at all.

If you cache your Slacker stations, it's better on the battery as it pulls from the memory card instead of constantly streaming...at least in my experiences that's been the case. I use Slacker all the time for music, and I really can't say I've had any battery life issues as a result...

I use my ipod for music while running because i also use Nike+ so i have to use the ipod . Also i think the bold would be slightly too big and heavy for running.
