PC or Mac - which OS
How did you update your phone, was it OTA? What programs did you use?
The more information you can give the better

You only need to post this once: http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...lp-pls-740078/

What happened while you were updating, if you can remember?
Do you have the correct OS (operating system) for your specific device installed on your computer?

Its a PC OS 7. No it was not OTA. I used Blackberry Desktop Manager 7.0.0.59

It tried loading all the software the first time then suddenly error 507 came and since then, I tried reconnecting the BB its not getting recognized and no red light is also turning on.

While updating it gave me an error 507 and then got stuck. I disconnected the phone and tried loading BB again with Blackberry Desktop Manager but got completely dead with no red light. tried connecting many-er times but doesnt gets recognized on the computer

The Error 507 is expected when the OS is wiped but it sounds like something went off the rails BEFORE the OS could be reloaded.

See if you can wipe (again) the device with BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife.

Once the Wipe is done use the same program (or Desktop Manager if you wish) to try and reload the OS you want on the phone.

I would go here http://http://crackberry.com/offiica...nican-republic download the new OS. Delete the current OS from PC. Control Panel - Programes and Features - BlackBery Device software, click on this to uninstall it. Go to folder where you downloaded the new OS and click on to install. Then remove the vendor files, quick guide below
How to remove both vendor.xml files from your PC

    Navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Apploader
From there, remove the vendor.xml file
Next, make sure you can view hidden files and folders in Windows Explorer (Tools > Folder Options > View > Show hidden files and folders)

Then, depending on your version of Windows:

On Windows Vista/7 navigate to C:\Users\YOUR_USER\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML (Where "YOUR_USER" is your username)
On Windows XP navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_USER\Application Data\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML (Where "YOUR_USER" is your username)
Remove the vendor.xml file and you're done! Now fire up Deskop Manager or App Loader and you should be able to find the new OS and install away!
personally I would use app loader
    Hope this helps

Shot in the dark here: Although you need Desktop Manager installed on your PC you have to make sure it is not open (running) while trying to use BBSAK.

Two tools which are invaluable are BBHTool down load from here http://www.theiexplorers.com/BBHTool/BBHTool-pub.zip
and Vendelete+ download from here http://ubersurfer.com/files/vendeleteplus.zip
Try wiping phone with BBHTool, if phone is still not recognised try uninstalling and reinstalling DM
    If that fails try this

After three days and countless dead-ends un-nuking an 8520 was this simple

Step 1. go to this address - us.blackberry.com/update
Step 2. Choose Update on the web
    Step 3. Done!

From 507 error to fully functioning device!!
