Email filtering question using asterisk *
Hello,
I have recently been receiving a lot of spam and am trying to use the built-in email filter on my Bold9900 to stay on top of it. I have an icloud and a private exchange account via BESx set up. Whilst I can edit the rules on the exchange account easily I do a lot of messaging from my phone so I need to be able to add/edit filters from my 9900.
I have read the short help guide on the phone but would like to clarify the following:
example*; example2*; example3*; is what I should be doing (according to the manual) to block messages from a multitude of senders.
However, a lot of the spam I receive is from highjacked legitimate mail accounts. So my question is:
Can I use the asterisk as a wild card in the SUBJECT and MESSAGE fields? And if so: Is the format the same as above (i.e. example*)?
Can I also use the asterisk before a word (i.e. *example*)?
The help guide is a bit too vague here (at least to me).
Many thanks, I appreciate any help with this!
P.S. I am using a Bold 9900, 7.1.0.1047
