My 9900 is showing duplicate entries for each track.
If I delete either of the duplicated entries, the track gets deleted.
I do not have any playlists, I just select an album or tracks and the duplicate entries are always there.
I tried deleting all tracks from the Micro-SD card and then copying them from my PC using Windows explorer. Still have duplicates.
I also tried deleting all tracks from the Micro-SD card and then syncing from Desktop Manager. Still have duplicates.
I presume that the music database is corrupt, or confused.
Is there any way to clear or rebuild the music database?
This one is very odd. Can't think what's going on here. Have you tried inserting the card into a PC reader, deleting all tracks and re-copying. Then put the card back in the phone and try again. Before you put the card back in the phone, check with explorer that you don't have duplicate copies.
Looks like I had two sets of files in completely different folders.
I found a load of folders on the Micro-SD card that contained files I suspect were created by the 9780 and these included a music sync folder with the duplicates.
It almost seems that this music sync folder was synchronised with my music folder, which would explain why tracks were removed when I deleted one of the duplicates.
Anyway, I reformatted the Micro-SD and copied my stuff back to the Micro-SD and now everything seems to be OK.
