Thank you!
A dual SIM mobile phone is one which has two Subscriber Identity Modules (SIMs). Dual-SIM adapters are available to allow cellphones to contain two SIMs, and to switch from one to the other as required. Some phones are designed to work with two SIMs, both of which may be active at the same time.
Dual-SIM operation allows the use of two services without the need to carry two phones at the same time. For example, the same handset can be used for business and private use with separate numbers and bills; or for travel, with an additional SIM for the country visited.
Some operators, e.g. Orange UK have two lines available on a single SIM.
I think that is very cool.
Threefive, how do I know if my Bold 9000 can handle a dual SIM and if it can, how do I go about putting the 2nd SIM in the phone? Do I need to call my provider at this point?
Thanks.
No dual SIM support for the Bold
The bold only does one SIM... you need to buy a phone that specifically allows two SIMS (namely, a device with two SIM slots)...
Cheers.
The bold can handle two lines, I have it on mine using Orange's 2nd line feature - however whether or not it can handle two SIM's I don't know.
Rats!
RJB, with both lines on your phone, are you able to receive text messages on both lines as well? Do you pay extra?
Thanks.
The other two posts are correct it can not handle two sims.
I pay a small amount extra and both lines will do everything, calls, SMS, voicemail but BB related features are of course limited to a single device.
I should contact AT&T to see if they can pull this off. I will check out the dual SIM adapter as well.
Thanks everyone!
I am check into carriers that do it also
Let us know your findings. Especially if you talk to AT&T first. :)
Cool video and even cooler concept..hmm.
Most phones with dual SIM card functionality are Chinese counterfeits.
Uhmmm....wouldn't that void the warranty?

I just bought the SIMore dual sim adapter and it does not work. Also cramming that thing into the bold is tougher than you would think based on the video.
Simore customer support was always very responsive in emails trying to help me get the thing working, but when i finally gave up and told them i wanted to return it, they are suddenly nowhere to be found.
But if you feel like u wanna give it a shot anyway i happen to have one i can sell....
