I got the charging stand for the 9900 on CrackBerry.com. It was working for a couple weeks. I had it set to enter beside mode when I dropped it in.

Now it doesn't charge. I can plug the charger in the phone directly and it'll charge, but it seems it doesn't charge with the contacts. Any ideas??????

Look closely at the plug riser sticking up out of the stand, use a magnifying glass.
See if the terminal inside of the plug looks damaged, also inspect the socket on the stand, where the power cable plugs in to any damage.
If it is a OEM BlackBerry stand, the power cable to the stand should also be the same as a charge cable directly to the phone.
If that cable is damaged, then it wont charge or do anything through the stand.


I had a stand for my old Storm, OEM BlackBerry one, that died.
Inspecting the riser plug I could see one of the contacts had came loose and folded onto itself inside of the plug.
It was too far gone to fix, unfortunately.

I have had a total of 4 charging stands of two different designs.

Three of them started to have intermittent connections when touching the USB cable and eventually died completely.
I suspect poor quality solder joints.

Only 1 of the 4 has provided reliable service.
