I am going to switch to Verizon from ATT because ATT sucks.
HOwever, I travel a lot. If I go to Hong Kong, can I put in a local HK sim into the 9930? I've never had a CDMA phone so not sure if it is possible.

my mistake ** read below
The 9930 is a world phone, you will be able to use a sim card in any part of the world and use any network on that country. Just need to unlock the phone and you will not get 3G service only 2G!
Oh trippy.. so how do you VZW people switch phones if theres no sim card?
do you need to bring it in to the store and have them program your # into it?
@Boys. Be helpful. And you're wrong.
@Rounders. You can call then and provide your MEID.
But. You can use the SIMcard once it is unlocked.
Hopefully VZW and SPR will sell then unlocked.
So yes. You can use it anywhere except for Japan and Korea because they use CDMA only.

Thanks for the clarification. So overseas if you use a foreign sim card, do you get 3G or 2G?
Like I said before you will get 2G just because the 3G bands on the 9930 will never be compatible with any GSM bands.
You can switch you device easily online as well, it take 2min :)
when we want to switch phones we just call in on the phone we wanna use and theyll tell you to do some stuff and yeah another good thing abt vzw phones are if they get stolen no one can use them
