    Basically, i would like to get a 9900 for calls,texts and emails such as Exchange,Gmail and AOL through IMAP or POP.
    But i do not know whether it works or not nowadays.
    Does anyone here owning one still use it for this?

    In the USA, for existing accounts currently using a 9900/9930, it may work for some. You’re not likely to be able to activate a new device on any carrier in the USA.

    If you are in the US then just forget it. Otherwise please read on.

    I use Curve 9320 as my primary phone (it runs OS 7.1.0.1098, just like Bold 9900). The short list of apps which still work can be found in post #31 here:

    And much more comprehensive information is available here:

    The Bold Explorer

    LogicMail app is required for emails. The last version is 2.2.0.85:

    Some tips can be found in post #12 here:

    You would need to find an email provider which still supports basic authentication and TLS v1.0. Gmail does not work any more, but Outlook.com should run ok until Oct-2022. I got it working earlier this year with the following settings:

    IMAP Server: outlook.office365.com
    Use secure connection: TLS
    Port: 143

    SMTP Server: smtp.office365.com
    Use secure connection: TLS
    Port: 587
    Authentiction: LOGIN

    The easiest way to get the settings for different email providers is to install the latest version of Thunderbird email client on the computer and go to New Account wizard. Some adjustments might occasionally be required in LogicMail, like changing SSL to TLS or PLAIN authentication to LOGIN. Here is the "translation" table:

    Logic Mail => Thunderbird

    IMAP
    Never = None (Port 143)
    SSL = SSL/TLS (Port 993)
    TLS = STARTTLS (Port 143)

    SMTP
    SSL = SSL/TLS (Port 465)
    TLS = STARTTLS (Port 587)
    Authentication: PLAIN or LOGIN = Normal Pswd (?)

    In order to get everything working properly you might need to wipe and reinstall the OS on your Bold 9900, as explained here:

    The last OS available for Bold 9900 is 7.1.0.1098. At least you have a device with the proper 3G bands (1,2,5,6), so you should be able to get it working (as long as you don't live in the US). You can get the OS in post #2 here:
